Second Chances,
a Shaman King fan fiction.
Second Chances is a fanfic centralized around Hao Asakura (Zeke in
English Translation) after he loses at the Shaman Tournament and instead of
being killed, he ends up knocked out and badly injured. With this, his brother
Yoh goes against the Shaman Council and tells them that he will help his
brother change his ways. The Council then grants him a year with the condition
that if he has not changed, they will finish him off themselves. What happened
afterwards is Hao’s journey through rehabilitation with the help of two random
created characters from the author.
This fan fiction was a lot of fun to read, the author created two random
characters to make the story his own, blending the annoyance of random people
in your home that are staying with you for a year that you’re trapped but also gives
a “slice of life” feel to it where someone who despises people has to learn
them to deal with them. I also liked the way how each chapter had a little
drama, romance, whatever… Just so reading 50 chapters isn’t incredibly tedious;
he mixes in the correct amount of elements so that it keeps you reading.
Princess
Jealousy, a Princess Resurrection fan fiction.
Poor Hiyorimi Hiro, he really gets himself into trouble in this one. This
story is centred on Hiro as he tries to juggle a new friendship with a girl
from his class whilst also realizing the depth of his feelings towards his
master, Hime. As the story continues, Hime too realizes that the boy who she
made one of her servants may also have the potential to become something else
to her entirely.
With this one, I’m really looking forward to the
next chapter, its not yet completed and I have to say, the author has a real
great insight to the complications that come with being a high school kid that
is also a servant for a princess who he’s fallen in love with as well as having
a new person appear at your school that you feel at ease hanging around with.
Addiction, a Neon
Genesis Evangelion fan fiction.
Now, anyone who has ever watched this show, they will know how messed up
it is. Luckily, this fan fiction adds a little levity to the world and allows
the reader’s imagination to put every scenario together in any way they wish. The
story paints a “what if” scenario in which what could have happened in the
episode where Asuka and Shinji use an unusual method to kill time and boredom.
Making it a “what if” type of story gave it a real imaginative trait, it
paints the scenario and carries on but it kind of encourages the reader to try
and imagine what other things could have been added to make it more
entertaining.
Call me by my
name, a Sora no Otoshimono fan fiction.
This anime is actually quite new but I can honestly say, I had a lot of
fun watching it, sometimes I re-watch it on the same day after a marathon. This
one locks onto the Angeloid, Ikaros, as she attempts to makes sense of her
feelings towards her master, Tomoki, and with her being an “alien” that’s been
programmed without many emotional traits, it’s quite difficult for her to do so
without making a fool of herself.
I’m actually surprised that the author hasn’t added some more chapters to
this; I thought it was a one-shot but maybe they’re just busy, I liked this
story cause with the series not having many fan fictions, it might be wuite
interesting to see what ideas people could come up with. Starting with this
series as a base was a pretty good move for the newbie writer and I hope they
will finish this one soon.
